   •  I'm just an ordinary kind of person... why would you want to talk to me?

OK, for a start, you're definitely NOT just 'ordinary'. Anyone and everyone who relates to being trans is a star. And we think there are hundreds of people across America who are unsung heroes and heroines.

   •  I'm not a hero!

​

In your own way, we think you are. So, just leave that for us to figure out, OK?

​

   •  Will you come to my town?

​

That's up to you! TRANS ACROSS AMERICA will be a coast-to-coast road trip, though the actual route we take will be determined by the people who contact us.

   •  But I live in the middle of nowhere.

​

That's OK, we've got wheels! We’d really like to meet you if you are from the American Heartland. The variation of attitudes to being trans, and how that is different between, say, Kentucky and Los Angeles, is where we think the story is really interesting.

   •  So you don't want to hear from me if I live in a city?

 

No, we want to hear from you wherever you are!

   •  What's the music connection?

​

Nicola will be the person talking to you, and she was a DJ before she transitioned. So, we thought it would be great to meet other people with any connection in the music business or even just a real passion for music. It doesn't matter if you don't, tho.

   •  I've not transitioned yet, and not sure if I will. Are you interested in me?

​

Tell us your story! Why you don't transition can be as important as why you do.

• My friend is trans, do you want to speak to me?

​

Possibly, yes, because in any transition the friends, family, and loved ones also have to transition in many respects.

​

• Do I have to use my birth name if you film me?

​

Nope! We will respect all privacy, and use whatever names you choose. The only kind of official thing is a form that we'd need you to sign to say that you don't mind being filmed.

 

• I've never been on camera before. I'd be too nervous. 

​

Don't worry, we're super-friendly and we don’t bite, really. We'll do our best to make you feel as comfortable as we can. However, even if you aren’t sure you want to be filmed, please still get in touch.

• Will I get paid for this?

​

No, sorry, we can’t pay any fees for appearing.

​

• Where will you be filming me?

​

A place where you feel most at ease. Maybe at home, or outside, a coffee shop... Wherever works for the both of us.

 

• When will I see myself on TV? 

​

Woah, slow down! We hope to start filming in mid 2022.

• What channel will it be on?

​

The short answer is that we don't know yet. Because this is an unique project we have to make an initial 'pilot' episode which we then take to different media companies. If they are interested, then they commission a whole series. 

​

• Why are you making this?

​

Because we want to make the world a better place. Seriously. There's too much ignorance and bigotry when it comes to being trans. We hope that if we show real people in real environments we can encourage more empathy and understanding. That's why we need your help to make this happen. Spread the word and get in touch!
